Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed Radisson Greens, which opened in 1977 as part of a large planned residential community in Lysander, a town in Onondaga County just northwest of Syracuse. Jones brought his signature philosophy to the layout — generous fairways framed by strategic bunkering, water hazards that demand decision-making rather than just distance, and greens complexes that reward approach precision. The course earned serious regional recognition over the decades and has long been considered one of the stronger public-access layouts in Upstate New York.
The setting is classic Central New York — rolling glacially shaped terrain, mature hardwoods that ignite in autumn color, and the kind of open sky that makes the Finger Lakes region feel expansive even when the pines close in. Winters come early and hard here, which gives the playing season a certain urgency when conditions finally cooperate in late spring.
Radisson draws a loyal local following from the greater Syracuse area, functioning as a quality everyday public course that punches well above the typical municipal standard — a genuine RTJ design accessible without a private club membership.
