Linden Hall occupies the grounds of a Georgian country house hotel in Northumberland, and the course carries that sense of unhurried English landed gentry throughout its layout. The parkland setting means mature specimen trees line many of the fairways, and the rolling Northumberland countryside provides a backdrop that shifts with the seasons — particularly dramatic in autumn when the canopy turns. It plays as a resort course attached to the hotel, making it a popular destination for golfing breaks in the northeast of England.
Morpeth sits roughly midway between Newcastle and the Scottish border, in a county that is surprisingly undersung in British golf — wild links territory lies not far away on the North Sea coast at Bamburgh and Seahouses, but Linden Hall offers something altogether more sheltered and manicured by comparison. It rewards straight driving above all else, as wayward shots into established parkland trees tend to be punished quickly.
