Royal Golf Dar Es Salam

Few courses in Africa carry the weight of history and prestige that Dar Es Salam does. Commissioned by King Hassan II and opened in 1971, the complex was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. at a time when the American architect was at the peak of his international influence. The Red Course — the flagship of the 3 layouts on the property — ranks consistently among the top courses on the continent and has long been considered one of Jones's finest works anywhere in the world.

The Red Course made its name hosting the Hassan II Trophy, a professional event that attracted major champions and top-ranked players from the 1970s onward, cementing Dar Es Salam's reputation on the world stage. The design winds through a dense cork oak and eucalyptus forest on the outskirts of the Moroccan capital, giving the round a surprisingly secluded, almost sylvan character that few would expect this close to a major city.

Rabat itself is a composed, unhurried capital by North African standards, and the club reflects that atmosphere — formal, immaculately maintained, and conscious of its royal origins. This is golf as a grand occasion.
