Few stretches of Irish coastline have been shaped into links golf as naturally as those running along the south Wexford shore. Rosslare Golf Club's Championship course occupies a finger of duneland between the Irish Sea and Wexford Harbour, a setting that generates the kind of capricious winds that can turn a straightforward round into something altogether more demanding. This is a traditional out-and-back links layout, which means no two consecutive holes play into the same wind — and by the back nine, whatever breeze seemed manageable on the front can feel like a different game entirely.
The course has been part of the Rosslare community for well over a century, making it one of the older clubs in the southeast. The landscape does much of the design work here: natural ridges, hollows, and dune grasses define the routing without needing artifice, and the turf plays firm and fast in the manner links devotees travel a long way to experience.
Rosslare town itself is the gateway to a corner of Ireland often overlooked by golfers chasing Ballybunion or the Wild Atlantic Way, which means the club retains a genuinely local character. For visitors, that's part of the appeal — proper links golf, played mostly by people who live nearby and take the conditions entirely in stride.
