The Nonesuch River Golf Club takes its name from the Nonesuch River, the modest tidal waterway that winds through southern Maine's coastal plain and gives this Scarborough layout much of its character. The course opened in the mid-1990s and was designed by Brian Silva, a New England-based architect with a particular affinity for the region's natural contours. Silva routed the design to work with the land rather than against it, letting wetlands, mature woodlands, and the river corridor shape the routing in ways that feel organic rather than manufactured.
