Golf de Cornouaille

La Forêt-Fouesnant sits at the edge of the Baie de La Forêt, one of the most sheltered inlets on Brittany's southern coast, and Golf de Cornouaille belongs completely to that landscape. The course occupies rolling, wooded terrain a short distance from the water, where oak and chestnut frame the fairways and the Atlantic light shifts constantly — bright and sharp one moment, soft and grey the next. The name Cornouaille refers to the ancient Celtic kingdom that once covered this corner of Finistère, and that sense of old, distinct identity runs through the whole area.

The course plays through genuine Breton countryside, with enough elevation change to keep every round interesting and enough tree cover to make accuracy matter more than length. It is the kind of layout where local knowledge rewards repeat visitors, and where the surroundings do as much work as the design itself.

The region is serious golf country. Finistère has a cluster of quality courses along its southern coastline, and La Forêt-Fouesnant draws both holidaymakers from the nearby resort towns of Concarneau and Bénodet and regulars who treat Cornouaille as their home track through a long, mild golf season that the Gulf Stream keeps genuinely playable well into autumn.
