Few heathland courses in England carry the mystique of The Addington. Opened in 1913 and designed by J.F. Abercromby — the same visionary behind Coombe Hill — it was immediately recognized as something extraordinary: a wild, almost untamed layout carved through Surrey heath and towering Scots pines, with elevation changes dramatic enough to feel theatrical.
