Evans sits in the heart of the Augusta metropolitan area, just across the Savannah River from South Carolina, in a part of Georgia where golf is practically a civic religion. Augusta National and the Masters have cast a long shadow over the entire region, and the courses in surrounding Columbia County — Evans among them — exist in that orbit, drawing players who take the game seriously and understand what good design looks like.
The name "Bluff" suggests terrain with some genuine elevation change, which would be notable for this part of the Georgia Piedmont, where the land tends toward gentle rolls rather than dramatic relief. If the course lives up to its name, expect holes that use natural drop-offs and ridge lines to create variety in shot angles and risk-reward decisions that flat ground simply cannot offer.
Columbia County has grown considerably over the past few decades into one of Georgia's more prosperous suburban communities, and its golf infrastructure has grown with it. A round here puts you within easy reach of one of American golf's most storied corridors.
