Few wine regions in the world carry the prestige of the Médoc, and the golf here reflects that same sense of terroir. The Parcours "Les Châteaux" at Golf du Médoc Resort sits within one of Bordeaux's most celebrated appellations, its fairways threading through a landscape of maritime pines, heathland, and the quiet grandeur that defines this corner of Gironde. The resort hosts 2 courses, and Les Châteaux — the more storied of the pair — was designed by Bill Coore, with later refinement that has helped it earn a place among France's most respected resort layouts.
The course draws its name from the great wine estates visible from the property, and that proximity to châteaux culture gives a round here a particular atmosphere. The routing moves through open heathland corridors with genuine strategic interest, rewarding thoughtful shot placement over brute force.
Le Pian-Médoc is roughly 20 minutes north of Bordeaux, which means a golf trip here pairs naturally with serious wine country exploration. The Atlantic climate keeps the course playable for much of the year, and the resort setting — with accommodation on site — makes it a natural base for visitors touring the region.
