Jungan Biguiyuan Golf Club sits within Jungan Town, one of the quieter townships of Shunde District in Foshan — a city that has grown into one of the Pearl River Delta's most industrially significant centers, yet retains pockets of traditional Cantonese village life and waterway culture. Foshan's proximity to Guangzhou and Shenzhen places it firmly within the orbit of southern China's booming golf market, where the sport expanded rapidly through the 1990s and 2000s on the back of Pearl River Delta development money.
The course is part of the Country Garden (碧桂园) property ecosystem — the real estate and resort developer that built a significant golf presence across Guangdong during that era, typically pairing championship-caliber layouts with large residential communities. These courses were designed to serve both resident owners and the broader regional membership market, and tend to offer manicured, resort-style conditions with lush subtropical turf shaped by Guangdong's hot, humid summers and mild winters.
Jungan itself sits in the flatter, water-threaded lowlands of Shunde, where canals, ponds, and fish farms define the agricultural landscape. Expect water features to play a meaningful role here, as they do across most Pearl River Delta courses — strategic rather than merely decorative, and particularly unforgiving in the afternoon heat.
