Avondale Golf Course

Avondale Golf Course sits on the flat, open terrain of Christchurch's suburban east, laid out alongside the Avon River — a waterway that has defined this city's character for well over a century. The club dates back to the early 1900s, making it one of Canterbury's longer-established golfing institutions, and it carries the unhurried, community-minded atmosphere of a members' course that has served the same neighborhoods through considerable change, including the upheaval of the 2010–11 Canterbury earthquakes, which reshaped much of the city around it.
