Cypress Creek Country Club sits in Cabot, a growing community about 25 miles northeast of Little Rock in Lonoke County. Central Arkansas doesn't draw the same golfing attention as the resort corridors farther south, but the region has a quiet, earnest golf culture built around well-maintained private and semi-private clubs where members genuinely know one another and the game is taken seriously without being precious about it.
The course takes its name from the cypress-lined waterways that define much of lowland Arkansas — a landscape of flat bottomland, hardwood timber, and the kind of humid, lush summers that keep fairways green but demand respect for the rough. That vegetation and the creek corridors it implies suggest a layout where water and tree lines do the strategic work rather than dramatic elevation change.
As a country club serving a suburban community, Cypress Creek likely functions as its members' home course in the fullest sense — the place where handicaps are built, rivalries are settled, and weekend mornings carry a comfortable, familiar rhythm that no resort round quite replicates.
