Perched at serious elevation in the Haut Vallespir, the southernmost corner of France where the Pyrenees fold down toward Catalonia, Domaine de Falgos is one of the most dramatically situated golf courses in the country. The course sits within a larger resort and spa estate, carved through dense oak and chestnut forest at around 1,000 metres above sea level, with sweeping views across valleys that stretch toward the Mediterranean on clear days. It is a mountain course in the truest sense — not merely hilly, but genuinely alpine in character, where the terrain dictates everything.
The design works with the natural topography rather than against it, meaning uneven lies, blind approaches, and elevation changes that make club selection a genuine puzzle on almost every hole. The surrounding forest keeps the layout intimate and the air cool even in summer, which makes it a popular escape from the heat of Perpignan and the coast just an hour away.
Serralongue itself is a tiny Catalan village, and that cross-border cultural identity — French administration, Catalan soul — flavors the entire experience. This is not a course you visit for tournament conditioning; you come for the views, the solitude, and golf that feels genuinely apart from the ordinary.
