Golfclub Rochushof sits in the Deggenhausertal — the "Valley of Deggenhaus" — a quietly beautiful fold of southwestern Baden-Württemberg between Lake Constance and the foothills of the Upper Swabian plateau. This is apple-orchard and dairy country, rolling agricultural land where the horizon is often framed by the distant Alps on a clear day, and the light off the Bodensee occasionally catches the fairways in the late afternoon. It is a genuinely pastoral setting, unhurried in character, and the course reflects that.
Rochushof is a private members' club with the feel of a well-tended country estate. The layout works with the natural contours of the valley rather than against them, so rounds tend to involve genuine changes in elevation and some tight, tree-lined corridors that demand course management over raw power. The turf quality here is typically high by German club standards, and the conditioning benefits from the relatively mild, lake-tempered climate of the Bodensee region.
For visiting golfers, the draw is as much the surroundings as the scorecard — a round at Rochushof pairs naturally with the broader Bodensee golf circuit, which includes several strong clubs within easy driving distance along the northern lakeshore.
