Few clubs in the American South carry the historical weight of Druid Hills Golf Club. Founded in the early 20th century and rooted in one of Atlanta's most storied residential neighborhoods — the Druid Hills community designed by Frederick Law Olmsted — the club is part of a landscape that has always taken its surroundings seriously. The course itself was laid out by Donald Ross, whose fingerprints are on some of the most respected designs in American golf, and the property has the mature, shaded character you'd expect from nearly a century of growth inside Atlanta's urban fabric.
Ross's work here reflects his trademark philosophy: subtly crowned and contoured greens that reward precise approach play, with punishment delivered more through strategic complexity than brute length. The tree-lined corridors through this old Atlanta neighborhood give the round an intimate, almost private feel, even as the city hums just beyond the canopy.
Druid Hills has long been a fixture of Atlanta's private club culture — serious golf played in an environment where history and craftsmanship are genuinely present underfoot.
