Milton sits at the western edge of the Greater Toronto Area, where the Niagara Escarpment rises sharply from the flatlands and the landscape takes on a rougher, more dramatic character than most of the surrounding suburban sprawl. It's a region that offers golf course designers genuine terrain to work with — elevation change, mature hardwoods, and the kind of rolling ground that rewards architects willing to follow the land rather than force it.
Greystone Golf Club plays into that setting as a semi-private or public-access facility serving a rapidly growing corridor of Halton Region. Courses in this pocket of Ontario tend to attract a mix of serious recreational players from the west GTA who want something beyond the typical flat layouts closer to the city, along with local members looking for a home course with genuine character.
Ontario's golf season runs from roughly late April through October, and the fall stretch around Milton can be particularly rewarding — the escarpment hardwoods turn, the air sharpens, and the courses in this part of the province often play their best when the summer heat has finally broken.
