Timrå Golfklubb sits along the Gulf of Bothnia coastline in Västernorrland, a county that stretches across one of Sweden's more sparsely populated stretches of the northern interior and coast. The club is based in Fagervik, a quiet locality just outside Timrå municipality, where the landscape is shaped by boreal forest, granite outcroppings, and the long, light-filled summers that define golf this far north. Rounds here can extend well into the evening during midsummer, with the sun barely dipping below the horizon — one of those experiences that simply doesn't translate to a scorecard.
The course plays through typically Norrlandic terrain: a mix of tight, tree-lined fairways cut through spruce and pine, with the natural topography doing much of the design work. That forest setting demands accuracy off the tee and rewards players who manage the ball rather than simply chase distance.
Timrå is a genuine club for its community — the kind of place where members return season after season not for tournament prestige but for the rhythm of the game in a landscape that feels genuinely remote and unhurried.
