Golfbaan Ooghduyne

Golfbaan Ooghduyne sits on the North Holland coast near Den Helder, in one of the flattest and most wind-exposed corners of the Netherlands. Julianadorp is a small seaside village pressed between the North Sea dunes and the old polder landscape of the Kop van Noord-Holland, and the course takes its name — Ooghduyne, an archaic Dutch word for the eye of the dunes — directly from this terrain. Playing here means accepting the dunes and the coastal wind as full partners in the round, not merely background scenery.

The layout moves through and alongside the natural dune ridges that buffer this stretch of coastline, giving it a links-adjacent feel that is relatively rare in Dutch golf, where most courses occupy flatter, reclaimed land. The turf tends to firm and fast in the drier months, and the prevailing westerly off the North Sea can turn a moderate hole into something genuinely demanding.
