Golf Zibatá

Golf Zibatá is the centerpiece of Zibatá, a large master-planned residential and commercial development on the eastern edge of Querétaro — one of Mexico's fastest-growing cities and a manufacturing powerhouse that has attracted a substantial expat and professional class in recent years. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, whose firm has left a significant imprint across Mexican golf, and it plays through the rolling, semi-arid terrain characteristic of the Bajío highlands, with elevation changes that lend the layout genuine drama and variety.

The design embraces the natural topography of El Marqués municipality, working with arroyos, native scrub, and rocky outcroppings rather than flattening the land into submission. The result is a course with strong visual definition and memorable risk-reward decisions, particularly on the back nine where the terrain becomes more pronounced. It serves both the residential community around it and the broader Querétaro metropolitan area, which has a growing but still intimate golf scene.

At altitude — Querétaro sits above 1,800 meters — the ball carries notably farther than at sea level, which shifts how golfers approach yardages and club selection across the round.
