Few settings in greater Montreal golf put you quite so literally on the water as this one. Golf des Iles occupies the Îles-de-Boucherville, a chain of river islands in the St. Lawrence sitting just off the South Shore, making the surrounding water not merely a backdrop but a constant presence — visible from nearly every hole and very much in play when the wind picks up off the river.
Boucherville itself is one of the oldest municipalities in Quebec, a quietly historic town that predates Confederation by centuries, and the islands carry that same sense of place that belongs more to the river than to the suburbs sprawling nearby. The layout threads through mature trees and natural wetlands, with the St. Lawrence framing shots in a way no inland course can replicate. Wind direction and strength here genuinely change how the course plays day to day.
As a public facility, Golf des Iles is accessible and unpretentious, drawing a steady South Shore clientele who come as much for the scenery as the scorecard. The island location makes the commute part of the experience.
