Highland Pacific sits on the traditional lands of the Lekwungen peoples, occupying a stretch of Victoria's Colwood area where the terrain rolls with genuine Pacific Northwest character — Douglas fir, ocean glimpses, and the kind of mild, damp air that keeps the turf green year-round. This is a public course that punches well above its municipal weight, drawing locals from across Greater Victoria who want a legitimate test without the private-club price of admission.
The layout rewards course management over raw power, with elevation changes that make distances deceptive and a handful of holes where the Pacific backdrop earns its place in the name. It plays as a full 18 for everyday golfers but also serves the beginner and intermediate market through a separate shorter layout, making it genuinely useful to a wide range of players rather than a single demographic.
Victoria's golf scene is quietly strong — the island climate allows nearly year-round play, and Highland Pacific is a reliable anchor of the south Vancouver Island public golf corridor, sitting comfortably alongside some of the region's better-known courses.
