Few golf destinations in regional Australia generate quite the loyalty that Yarrawonga Mulwala does. Straddling the Murray River border between New South Wales and Victoria, the resort has grown over decades into one of the most complete golf complexes in the country — multiple courses, accommodation, and a social atmosphere that keeps visitors returning year after year. The flagship Lakeside course is widely regarded as one of the strongest tests in inland Australia, a par-72 layout that demands strategic thinking as much as ball-striking, with water a persistent presence and fairways that reward precise positioning off the tee.
The surrounding region is Murray country — broad skies, river red gums, and the vast expanse of Lake Mulwala created by the Yarrawonga Weir. It's holiday territory for much of southern New South Wales and Victoria, and the golf club sits comfortably at the heart of that leisure culture.
The resort format suits the location well. You can arrive, stay, play multiple rounds across the different layouts, and never feel rushed. It draws a mix of serious club golfers chasing competitive weekend packages and casual visitors happy to simply enjoy the river setting at their own pace.
