Bedens Brook Club has been a fixture of the Somerset County golf scene since the 1960s, a private members' club set in the rolling hills of central New Jersey's Sourland Mountain region. The course takes its name from Bedens Brook, the waterway that winds through the property and brings genuine strategic consequences to several holes. Robert Trent Jones Sr. shaped the original layout, and his trademark blend of generous fairways, well-bunkered greens, and demanding approach shots is very much present — rewarding patient, precise play over power.
The Skillman area sits between Princeton and the Raritan Valley, a stretch of New Jersey that trades the state's suburban reputation for quiet farmland, mature hardwoods, and terrain with real topographic variety. That landscape gives the course a sense of remove that can surprise first-time visitors.
As a private club, Bedens Brook centers its identity on member experience — deliberate pace, well-maintained conditions, and a layout that asks different questions across all 18 holes rather than leaning on a single showpiece moment.
