Radisson Greens has built a quiet but genuine reputation as one of the more respected public-access courses in Central New York, drawing players from Syracuse and the surrounding Finger Lakes corridor who want something more substantive than a typical daily-fee round. The course occupies rolling terrain characteristic of this part of Onondaga County, where glacially shaped topography keeps architects — and golfers — honest. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the layout, and his fingerprints are visible throughout: bold bunkering, demanding angles off the tee, and greens that reward proper positioning over brute force.
The Baldwinsville area sits at the heart of a region that takes its golf seriously despite the compressed season — late April through October, give or take a hard frost. When conditions cooperate, the course plays through mature trees and open parkland stretches that shift the wind unpredictably, making club selection a genuine puzzle on nearly every hole.
As a public course operating within a larger planned community, Radisson Greens occupies an interesting middle ground: accessible enough for a casual weekend round, yet demanding enough that low handicappers leave with their scores earned rather than gifted.
