Hamilton's relationship with public golf runs deep, and Kings Forest has long been one of the city's most accessible and well-used municipal tracks. Operated by the City of Hamilton, it sits within a mature green corridor in the east end of the city, where the landscape carries the character of the Niagara Escarpment region — rolling terrain, established tree lines, and the kind of wooded setting that gives a municipal course genuine visual appeal through the seasons.
For a city-run layout, Kings Forest punches above its weight in terms of atmosphere. The tree-framed fairways demand placement off the tee, and the course plays host to a wide cross-section of Hamilton golfers — from regular recreational players to competitive club-level events. It's the kind of course where locals develop a real familiarity and affection over years of play.
Hamilton itself is an underrated golf city, sitting within easy reach of some of Ontario's stronger private and public offerings. Kings Forest serves as an honest, everyman anchor to that local scene.
