Few clubs in the Pacific Northwest carry the historical weight of Broadmoor Golf Club. Founded in the 1920s and designed by renowned architect A. Vernon Macan — the Scottish-born designer responsible for several of the region's most enduring layouts — Broadmoor occupies a quietly prestigious place in Seattle's golfing identity. It has hosted multiple USGA and Pacific Northwest Golf Association championships over the decades, and its membership has long included some of the city's most devoted students of the game.
Macan's design philosophy favored strategic shot-making over sheer length, and Broadmoor rewards that tradition well. At par 70, the course plays shorter than many of its peers, but the routing demands accuracy, course management, and an honest reckoning with well-positioned hazards. The tree-lined fairways and firm, receptive greens reflect the best of golden-age Pacific Northwest design.
Seattle's climate — mild, frequently overcast, and reliably green — means Broadmoor stays in excellent condition through most of the year. The club sits in one of the city's established residential neighborhoods, lending it the quiet, members-focused atmosphere of a place that has never needed to announce itself.
