Winona sits on a narrow shelf of land between the Mississippi River and the limestone bluffs of southeastern Minnesota — one of the more dramatic pieces of geography in the Upper Midwest. The terrain here is nothing like the flat prairie most people picture when they think of Minnesota. The bluffs, the coulees, and the river bottomlands create a distinct landscape, and Westfield GC exists within that context, offering a course shaped by the kind of rolling, wooded ground that defines this corner of the state.
