St. Catharines sits at the heart of Ontario's Niagara Peninsula, a region better known internationally for its wine than its golf — but the two have found a natural home together at Rockway Vineyards. The course occupies working vineyard land, and that agricultural backdrop gives it a character that generic parkland layouts rarely achieve. Rows of vines, open sky, and the particular flatness of the Niagara fruit belt shape the experience as much as any bunker or water hazard.
The par-73 configuration is a small but telling detail — an extra par 5 worked into the routing gives the layout a relaxed, unhurried rhythm that suits its setting. This isn't a course trying to punish you; it's one inviting you to enjoy an afternoon in a genuinely beautiful corner of southern Ontario.
The broader Niagara region draws visitors year-round for the Falls, the wineries along the Twenty Valley, and easy access from both Toronto and Buffalo. Rockway Vineyards adds a reason to linger a little longer.
