Zhongshan sits in the heart of the Pearl River Delta, roughly midway between Guangzhou and Macau, and its warm subtropical climate and flat alluvial terrain have made it one of the more golf-rich cities in Guangdong province. The region blooms year-round, and courses here tend to weave through lychee groves, water features, and manicured tropical vegetation — a landscape that feels lush almost to excess. Zhongshan was also the birthplace of Sun Yat-sen, and it carries a certain civic pride that extends into its leisure developments.
雅居乐 (Agile) is one of the major Guangdong property developers that built large-scale residential and golf communities throughout the Pearl River Delta during China's golf-construction boom of the 1990s and 2000s. Their courses typically anchor lifestyle estates, designed to serve residents and local members rather than tournament circuits, with a premium placed on conditioning and an agreeable, accessible layout.
The name's reference to the Yangtze (长江) is somewhat poetic for a Zhongshan address — more likely a branding flourish than geography — but the course itself would reflect the well-maintained, amenity-forward character typical of Agile's development portfolio in this part of Guangdong.
