Sông Bé Golf Resort occupies a significant place in Vietnamese golf history as one of the country's earliest championship layouts, developed during the 1990s boom that introduced modern golf infrastructure to southern Vietnam. The course takes its name from the Sông Bé River and sits in Bình Dương Province, just north of Ho Chi Minh City — close enough to the metropolis to serve the city's growing golfing community while offering a green escape from the urban density. It was among the first courses in the region to attract serious international attention and helped establish Ho Chi Minh City's southern corridor as a legitimate golf destination.
The layout winds through mature tropical vegetation, where towering trees, water features, and the humid lowland terrain of the Mekong Delta's northern fringe shape every strategic decision. Heat and humidity are facts of life here, so early morning tee times are practically a local tradition.
As a resort facility, Sông Bé caters to both visiting internationals and the expanding Vietnamese golfing middle class, with a clubhouse experience reflective of the country's rapid modernization. Playing here offers a window into how the game has taken root and flourished in one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic cities.
