The Barbara Worth Golf Resort takes its name from a 1926 silent film shot in the Imperial Valley — and that connection to old California roots runs through the whole property. Holtville sits at the heart of the Imperial Valley, one of the most agriculturally productive desert basins in the world, carved out of the Sonoran Desert through the engineering feat of the All-American Canal. Playing here means playing in a landscape that feels genuinely remote, flat, and sun-baked, with the Chocolate Mountains visible on the horizon and temperatures that routinely push past 110°F in summer. Early morning tee times aren't just preferred — they're essentially mandatory from June through September.
As a resort course anchored to a historic property in a small agricultural community, Barbara Worth has long served as the social and recreational hub for an area that doesn't have much competition nearby. Holtville itself is known as the "Carrot Capital of the World," and this course carries that same unpretentious, working-community spirit.
