Lochmere Golf and Country Club sits in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, one of the state's most rewarding stretches of terrain for golf. The area takes its name from the chain of lakes — Winnisquam, Winnipesaukee, and their smaller neighbors — that carve up the landscape and give it a character that's part rugged New England woodland, part summer-escape classicism. Tilton itself is a small mill-town crossroads where the region's working roots and its recreational identity have long coexisted.
As a private members' club, Lochmere offers the kind of golf that rewards familiarity over time — learning which approaches feed, where the real trouble hides, and how the seasons shift the playing surfaces from the firm and fast of midsummer to the softer, slower conditions of a cool New Hampshire October. That accumulated local knowledge is part of what membership here means.
The Lakes Region draws golfers who genuinely want to be somewhere, not just somewhere with a golf course attached. The scenery does real work here, and a round at Lochmere comes with the landscape as a full participant.
