Thorndon Park

Thorndon Park occupies one of the most historically significant stretches of land in Essex — a former deer park attached to Thorndon Hall, the grand Palladian mansion that still peers over parts of the course today. The Hall's origins trace back centuries, and the parkland character that shapes the golf here is the real thing: mature oaks, established fairways rolling through genuine English country estate terrain, not manufactured scenery. The course was laid out by Harry Colt, one of the great early 20th-century architects, which alone tells you something about the quality of the strategic thinking on offer.
