Coosa sits in Floyd County in northwest Georgia, a part of the state where the Appalachian foothills begin to flatten toward the Piedmont and the Coosa River winds through a landscape of hardwood forests and red clay. It's working-class country with deep roots, and the name Kraftsmen's Club carries that spirit openly — a course built for and by people who work with their hands, the kind of place where golf was never meant to be exclusive.
A par 68 over 18 holes tells you immediately that this layout leans heavily on shorter par 4s and par 3s, the design philosophy of a course built to be playable rather than punishing. That makes it approachable for everyday golfers, but shorter tracks have a way of demanding more precision than length — the margins are tighter when there's no room to bomb-and-gauge your way around.
Northwest Georgia has a modest but genuine golf culture, with a handful of courses serving the Rome and Floyd County communities. Kraftsmen's Club fits that tradition: unpretentious, accessible, and rooted in the local fabric.
