Golfclub Holthuizen

Golfclub Holthuizen occupies a quietly rewarding corner of Drenthe, the northeastern Dutch province best known for its prehistoric hunebedden — the dolmen monuments left by Neolithic settlers — and for a flat, open landscape broken by heathland, forests of Scots pine, and the occasional sandy ridge left behind by retreating glaciers. Roden itself is a small, tidy town on Drenthe's northwestern edge, close to the Groningen border and within easy reach of the city of Groningen. The surrounding Noordenveld municipality is characterized by woodland and agricultural land that gives local courses a parkland feel with periodic stretches of more open, heathland-influenced character — conditions that reward accurate ball-striking over raw distance.
