Pilar del Lago is a private golf and country club set within one of the gated residential communities that spread across the Zona Norte corridor northwest of Buenos Aires, where the Pampas flatten into a broad, open landscape interrupted by the lakes and lagoons that give the club its name. The area around Presidente Derqui sits roughly 40 kilometers from the capital, part of a belt of country clubs — Martindale, Los Lagartos, Haras del Sur among them — that makes greater Pilar one of the most golf-rich suburbs in Argentina.
The course plays through the residential grounds in the style typical of Argentina's private country clubs: tree-lined fairways, water features that serve both as irrigation reservoirs and genuine strategic hazards, and greens that tend to reward a controlled, ground-aware game. The setting feels genuinely removed from the city despite being well within its orbit.
Golf culture in this corner of Buenos Aires Province is serious and social in equal measure. Members here are part of a broader Zona Norte community that treats the course as a gathering place as much as a sporting challenge — a tradition shared by the great Buenos Aires clubs going back to the early 20th century.
