Ternesse Golf & Country Club occupies a stretch of flat, wooded Flemish countryside just east of Antwerp, one of Belgium's most densely populated and commercially vital cities. The course was developed on the grounds of the historic Ternesse estate, and that manor-house heritage gives the club a distinctly old-world atmosphere — a sense that the land has been tended and valued long before the first tee was ever cut.
The layout winds through mature tree corridors typical of Belgian inland golf, where length matters far less than precision and course management. Wayward drives are punished quickly, and the low-lying terrain means ground conditions can be soft through the winter months, rewarding golfers who understand how to work the ball rather than simply overpower a course.
As a private members' club in the greater Antwerp area, Ternesse occupies a respected position in Belgian golf culture. Antwerp has long supported a serious golfing community, and the club reflects that — a place built around continuity, membership, and a genuine attachment to the game rather than passing visitors.
