Kikuoka Country Club stands as Luxembourg's most prestigious private golf club, and one of the most respected layouts in the Benelux region. Designed by the acclaimed American architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1991, the course was built on rolling terrain in the Moselle valley near the German and French borders — a setting that gives it a genuinely international character. RTJ Sr.'s fingerprints are unmistakable: generous landing areas that tighten as you approach the green, boldly contoured putting surfaces, and a routing that uses the natural rise and fall of the Luxembourgish countryside to dramatic effect.
The village of Canach sits in the canton of Remich, Luxembourg's wine country, where the Moselle River marks the border with Germany and the hillside vineyards produce the country's best Rieslings and Pinot Gris. The pastoral surroundings give the course a quiet, unhurried elegance that suits its private members' club character.
Kikuoka carries a serious reputation among serious players. The conditioning is consistently high, and the membership expectation is that you arrive prepared — this is not a layout that flatters casual golf.
