Bend has built one of the most compelling golf identities of any mid-sized American city, and Lost Tracks fits comfortably into that story. Situated in the high desert of central Oregon, the course plays through a landscape shaped by volcanic activity and juniper-studded terrain — the kind of setting that makes even a routine round feel like it's happening somewhere genuinely distinct. Bend is home to Pronghorn, Tetherow, and Bandon-adjacent destination thinking, which means courses here tend to be built with out-of-town expectations in mind — conditions, pace, and presentation all matter.
The high desert elevation and typically dry summers mean firm, fast conditions through much of the season, with the volcanic soil draining quickly after the region's mild winter precipitation.
