Few golf destinations in the American West place you quite so directly inside the landscape as Tributary Golf Club. Driggs sits in the Teton Valley on the Idaho side of the range, directly across from the peaks that most people only see from Wyoming — and that reversal of perspective is genuinely striking. You're looking at the Tetons from the quieter, less-trafficked flank, with the high summits rising to the east while the Caribou-Targhee National Forest frames the west. The elevation and the mountain air are immediately felt.
Tributary is a private club, and the par-74 routing — unusual enough to signal a deliberate design philosophy rather than convention — suggests a course built around the land rather than around formula. Par 74s typically reflect an architect's decision to let terrain dictate hole character, often yielding a generous count of par 5s or some creative par-3 sequencing.
Driggs itself is a small ranching and outdoor-recreation town that has grown steadily as an alternative to the more crowded Jackson Hole corridor just over Teton Pass. The golf here is very much part of that quieter, unhurried version of the Tetons experience.
