Wyndance Golf Club (Old)

Few courses in the Greater Toronto Area have stirred as much conversation since opening as Wyndance, a Doug Carrick design that brought genuine championship ambitions to the Oak Ridges Moraine north of Uxbridge. Carrick routed the layout across the region's characteristic rolling terrain — a glacially sculpted landscape of ridges, kettle ponds, and mature hardwood stands — producing a course that feels considerably wilder and more remote than its proximity to the GTA would suggest. When it opened, Wyndance quickly drew comparisons to the best private clubs in Ontario.

The "Old" designation hints at the club's evolution, suggesting a second layout has since joined the property. The original course remains the one that established Wyndance's reputation: a demanding, visually dramatic test where elevation change is constant and the natural contours of the Moraine do most of the heavy lifting.

Uxbridge sits in Durham Region's quieter northeastern corner, a town that wears its rural character comfortably. The surrounding countryside — farm fields, creek valleys, conservation lands — gives Wyndance a sense of place that pure golf destinations rarely manufacture.
