Åda Golf & Country Club sits on the outskirts of Trosa, a small coastal town on the southeastern edge of Södermanland that has quietly built a reputation as one of Sweden's more charming summer destinations. The surrounding landscape is classic Swedish pastoral — rolling farmland punctuated by forest, granite outcroppings, and the glittering waterways that thread through the province toward the Baltic. It's the kind of setting that lends itself naturally to golf, and the course works with the terrain rather than against it.
Södermanland has a respectable concentration of private member clubs, and Åda fits that tradition: a course built for and governed by its membership, with the unhurried, community-minded atmosphere that defines Scandinavian club golf at its best. Sweden's long summer days are a genuine asset here — midsummer rounds in evening light, with the sun barely dipping below the horizon, are among the quieter pleasures the club offers its members.
The region's climate means a compressed but intense season, and the course typically presents in excellent condition through the summer and into September, when the birches begin to turn.
