Valencia sits in the Santa Clarita Valley, about 30 miles north of Los Angeles in the high desert foothills where the San Gabriel Mountains begin their rise. The terrain here is rugged and sun-baked for much of the year, with native oaks — the club's namesake — providing some of the only natural shade across the chaparral-covered hillsides.
