High in the Aravis range of the French Alps, Golf des Confins sits at roughly 1,500 metres above sea level in the valley above La Clusaz — one of Haute-Savoie's best-loved ski resorts. The course occupies the same alpine meadows that fill with skiers in winter, and the transformation from snow to fairway is part of what makes it special. Summers here are short, vivid, and cool, with the jagged limestone ridgeline of the Chaîne des Aravis forming a constant backdrop that would distract even the most focused player.
The layout is a mountain course in every sense: terrain that climbs and drops through genuine alpine pasture, where cattle graze the adjacent fields into autumn and wildflowers colonize the rough. Shots must be shaped around natural contours rather than manufactured mounding, and the thin air and firm summer turf reward clean ball-striking.
La Clusaz itself is a village with real character — less commercialized than Megève or Chamonix — and the golf fits that tone: unpretentious, scenically extraordinary, and best suited to players who value the setting as much as the scorecard.
