Iron Knob is a small outback town on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, historically built around iron ore mining — the ore from these hills fed the Whyalla steelworks for much of the 20th century. It's rugged, remote country: red earth, sparse scrub, and the kind of relentless space that defines inland South Australia.
