Alamogordo sits in the Tularosa Basin, pinched between the Sacramento Mountains to the east and the stark white gypsum dunes of White Sands National Park to the west — one of the more dramatic high-desert settings you'll find anywhere in the American Southwest. Desert Southwest golf tends to be straightforward in its routing but unforgiving when the desert rough swallows an errant shot.
