Rocky Bayou Country Club takes its name from the tidal estuary that defines this corner of the Florida Panhandle — a stretch of the Niceville shoreline where Rocky Bayou feeds into Boggy Bayou before meeting Choctawhatchee Bay. That geography shapes everything about playing here: the breezes come off the water, the light changes fast, and the natural Florida landscape of longleaf pine and scrub oak frames a course that feels genuinely rooted in its surroundings rather than imposed on them.
Niceville sits within the orbit of the Destin–Fort Walton Beach corridor, one of the more active golf communities in the Panhandle, and Rocky Bayou occupies a quieter, more residential corner of that scene. As a private members' club, it serves a tight-knit community that includes a significant number of active and retired military families given the proximity to Eglin Air Force Base and Duke Field.
