Few layouts in New England make as honest a case for the short game as Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club. Attached to one of the White Mountains' grand old resort hotels — the Eagle Mountain House itself dates to the 19th century — the course sits high above the village of Jackson, a famously picturesque town in Carroll County that draws hikers, skiers, and leaf-peepers as much as it does golfers.
