Few places on the west coast of Ireland announce themselves quite like the stretch of Atlantic coastline running through County Clare. Miltown Malbay sits on this edge of the continent, where the Burren's limestone plateaus give way to wide, windswept shores, and the weather arrives without warning or apology. Spanish Point takes its name from the nearby headland where ships of the Spanish Armada wrecked in 1588 — a genuinely dramatic piece of local history that colours the whole area with a certain rugged gravity.
A par 68 tells you something important before you ever set foot on the course: this is a compact, intimate layout that rewards local knowledge and punishes careless shot-making more than brute length.
