Few golf destinations in western Canada carry the pedigree of Priddis Greens, the private club situated about 20 minutes southwest of Calgary in the rolling foothills of the Rocky Mountain front range. The property hosts 2 18-hole courses, and the Raven is widely regarded as the more dramatic and demanding of the pair — a layout that pushes into the deeper contours of the land, where elevation changes are genuine and the views toward the mountain wall to the west have a way of pulling your attention exactly when you need it focused on the shot at hand.
The foothills terrain here is not the flat prairie that defines so much of Alberta golf. Fescue-edged fairways move through coulees and ridgelines, and the wind — reliably present and reliably unhelpful — is very much part of the test. The course plays firm and fast in the dry summer months, rewarding ground game instincts as much as aerial precision.
Priddis Greens has long been considered one of the stronger private clubs in the Calgary corridor, attracting serious members who treat the game seriously. The Raven in particular has a reputation for humbling even accomplished players while still delivering an afternoon worth every hole.
